Art Jewelry - Pleasurably Learning Experience in New York

The Forbes Galleries in New York City will be featuring International Art Jewelry: 1895 – 1925 next month, an exhibition encompassing decorative arts movements from the turn of the 19th century that included jewelry.

The “art jewelry” to be shown at the show is from the arts and crafts movements in Great Britain and the United States, from the Art Nouveau movement in France, Belgium and the U.S., from the Jugendstil movement in Germany and Austria and from the Skonvirke movement in Scandinavian countries, Italy and more.

The exhibition will explain why there was a global interest in creating art jewelry at this time, as well as point out the similarities and differences between the influences and styles of jewelry executed in various countries.
