Brazil Green Paraiba Tourmaline and Diamond Ring by Tiffany in Christie's Auction

Set with a pear-shaped 'Paraiba' tourmaline, weighing approximately
6.78 carats, within a circular-cut diamond surround, to the circular-cut diamond bifurcated shoulders, mounted in platinum was auctioned by Christie's. The auction price ended $20,000.

The auction includes the report from AGTA Gemological Testing Center stating that the tourmaline is a natural elbaite paraiba tourmaline. The probable geographic origin is Brazil.
Mostly high-price neon blue Brazil paraiba tourmalines are heated and found in small sizes. Therefore the green Brazil Paraiba tourmaline is natural, non-heated, and rare in this size.
